EcoFlow made fast-charging power stations popular. The River, Delta and Trail series cover everything from day trips to a home reserve.
The EcoFlow series at a glance
The Trail series comprises compact DC power stations without a 230 V inverter – they provide USB-C and 12 V, making them light and efficient for laptops, phones and cool boxes. The River series is the entry level with an inverter, usually between about 250 and 800 Wh. The Delta series is the all-round range with around 1 to 2 kWh and high output; the Max and Plus variants can be expanded with extra batteries.
Very short mains charging times are typical of EcoFlow: many Delta models charge largely to full via the built-in power supply in around an hour. All current models use LiFePO4 cells. You will find the Stream series balcony solar batteries under balcony solar batteries.
Which EcoFlow model suits you?
A rough guide by use case:
- Trail: outdoors, photography, laptop on the go – without a 230 V socket.
- River 2 / River 2 Max / River 2 Pro: camping, garden, festivals – light and with 230 V.
- Delta 2 / Delta 3 / Delta 3 Plus: motorhome, workshop, backup power for individual devices.
- Delta 2 Max / Delta 3 Max: more output and capacity, expandable for longer self-sufficiency.
- When comparing predecessor and successor models, look at output, UPS switchover time and solar input – older generations are often cheaper and sufficient for many purposes.
What to look for in EcoFlow deals
The model names are very similar, and retailers like to bundle units with solar panels or extra batteries. So check the model name, capacity and what is included carefully. Also check the condition: refurbished units are labelled separately and hidden from our topic lists by default. The EcoFlow app lets you control charging power, charge limits and firmware.
EcoFlow compared with other brands
EcoFlow stands above all for fast charging and a broad ecosystem of extra batteries, solar panels and smart home accessories. Bluetti, Jackery and Anker SOLIX offer comparable units in the same capacity classes. Compare output, solar input, UPS switchover time and warranty directly in the data sheet – and check the price history, as EcoFlow models are frequently on offer. Older Delta and River generations often stay on sale for a long time and can be a good-value alternative for occasional users.
