Jackery is one of the best-known brands for portable power stations – with the Explorer and E series and many kits combining power station and solar panel.

The Jackery models at a glance

Jackery calls its units Explorer; in some markets they are sold as the E series (such as the E500 v2, E1000 v2, E2000 v2). The number in the name roughly indicates the capacity class: an Explorer 1000 v2 has around 1 kWh, an E2000 v2 around 2 kWh. The small models such as the Explorer 100 Plus are particularly compact and suit phones, cameras and laptops.

Under the name “Solar Generator”, Jackery sells kits combining a power station with a foldable SolarSaga panel. The current v2 models use LiFePO4 cells; older Explorer generations still used NMC batteries, which shows in weight and cycle count.

What to look for with Jackery

With Jackery in particular, many generations are on sale at the same time.

  • Check the generation: “v2” usually stands for LiFePO4 and newer technology.
  • Compare capacity and output – the name alone does not tell the whole story.
  • Kit or single unit: a Solar Generator kit includes panels; work out whether it is cheaper than buying separately.
  • Condition: refurbished units are hidden from our topic lists by default.
  • App control and fast charging are only available on newer models.

Who Jackery suits

Jackery is known for simple operation and a clean design, which suits beginners. If you are looking for lots of power per kilogram or a particularly wide choice of expansions, compare the data sheets with EcoFlow, Bluetti or Anker SOLIX. You will find Jackery’s balcony solar batteries (SolarVault) in the balcony solar batteries section or on wosolar.de.

Jackery sizes and suitable uses

The Explorer 100 Plus and similar small units fit in any backpack and charge phones, cameras and laptops. The 500 class suits weekend camping with a cool box. The 1000 class is the all-rounder for motorhome and garden, while the 2000 and 3000 models serve as a backup reserve for several devices. Before buying, always compare the current generation with the previous version – the price difference can be considerable. Pay particular attention to battery type, charging time and number of sockets, as this is where the generations have changed the most.
